There are so many reasons people don’t recommend Weebly. In this post I’m going to talk about Blogging with Weebly. It’s awful. Do not think I’ll ruin Weebly with this post, because Weebly can do quite a few things as well.

Weebly or Weeeeeebly?

Weebly was founded 12 years ago on the March 29, 2006, by David Rusenko, Chris Fanini, and Dan Veltri. Since then, it has become one of the best site builders, where you can easily open your site, a blog or even a shop. Sounds too good to be true? Yes it is.

What can Weebly do?

Weebly can already do a lot. You can create static websites and easily add text or images. You can also create a shop, but unfortunately you can not sell anything directly in the free version. Furthermore, you have to go through very difficult detours to sell something.

Weebly can create static pages and shops as well as blogs. A drag & drop website builder with a blog function? Yes, there is, at Weebly. But now comes the negative.

You can easily create a blog on Weebly, that’s for sure. But with the settings and the design Weebly hangs almost every service afterwards. I do not want to talk Weebly bad, I’ve been using Weebly for over a year, but unfortunately it is.

You can not set and optimize your blog too.

Many people are looking for drag and drop website builders because they are afraid to program. But that is not the case anymore. One of the best website software is WordPress, because you can create all kinds of websites, for free!

Also, WordPress has a lot more settings that you can do. You can install thousands of themes and plugins for free. Weebly also has different themes, but about 10 pieces are nothing compared to WordPress.

Does Weebly have the better hosting offer?

You can not just create on Weebly websites, no, you can also register a domain. You can also buy a hosting package, but only for Weebly sites. The price for a dot com domain is $20. Overpriced, as I think, because you get a .com domain for $10 annually at other domain registrars.

If you choose to have Weebly hosting, you should know that all Weebly servers are in the US. This means that if you want to create a site in another language, it will be much slower, than getting hosting in the country that you are in. because you have to connect to the server in the US first.

Conclusion

If you want to create a simple static website that does not really matter to you, and you do NOT want to create a blog then you are welcome to use Weebly.

For everything else, Fawove and many other websites have recommended WordPress.ORG (not wordpress.com), where you can easily create pages. But you have to choose a hosting and domain provider yourself.
